Our Ministries, Outreach, and Committees

Community Ministries & Organizations supported with donations, volunteers and or budgeted monies

1. Grace Food Pantry - A community food pantry staffed by church and community volunteers.  It serves approximately 175 families and over 450 persons weekly.  It is open one day a week from 7:30-11:00 am.

2. Anchor Mission Ministry (shelter for homeless & soup kitchen)

3. Angels of Grace Battered Women’s shelter

4. Teach for America program

 

Outreach programs

1. Bingo at Nursing homes

2. Humane Society of Delta free  Spay and Neuter clinic held at the church quarterly

3, Community Need Group: acts as a discretionary fund for those in need. (A $10,000 fund)

4. Samaritan’s Purse Christmas box program - - A program where shoe boxes are filled with gifts and messages of love to be distributed around the world to needy children.  The mission of Operation Christmas child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world and to share the good news of Jesus Christ’s redeeming love.

5. Pastoral Visitors: group that make weekly visits to the sick and elderly in the community

 

Sponsored church programs and committees

1. Our vestry is the Board of Trustees for the Ophelia Polk Moore Memorial Trust. (Oversees  the giving of approximately $20,000 in grants yearly to help the disadvantaged youth of Phillips County)

2. United Thank Offering Program (UTO Blue box)

3. Miles of Pennies

4. Fellowship Committee in charge of the church’s group gatherings

5. Pastoral Committee in charge of providing rides for doctor visits, buying groceries for the sick and shut-in, and visitations to the elderly and sick

6. Evangelism Committee: Reaching out into the community and sharing our Lord and tries to introduce our church to newcomers in the community.

7. Outreach Committee:  Keeps the church aware of needs within the church, the community and the world at large and provides avenues for assistance

8. Kitchen Committee:  In charge of all pot luck meals and other meals put on by the church

9. Finance and stewardship committee: Develops a plan for the church’s stewardship program and insures the financial stability and accuracy for the church.
