St. John’s Episcopal Church - Sunday, June 17, 2018

From Fr. Ray+

The Fellowship Committee is hosting a Baked Potato Luncheon following worship this coming Sunday, June 17.  Delicious toppings will be provided, along with drinks and dessert. I encourage you to join the rest of the St. John’s family for this fun time of fellowship and good food!  This luncheon is being handled by the Fellowship Committee, so all you need to bring is your appetite!

Also, we will be blessed to have Everett Long providing special music for our worship this week.  St. John’s loves Everett and looks forward to having him back with us.

We continue to see new faces each week in the Adult Sunday School Class. There are four weeks remaining in our series, Short Stories by Jesus. This week we will be taking a look at Jesus’ parable about the Pearl of Great Price. The class consists of a brief video of Vanderbilt Divinity School professor Dr. Amy-Jill Levine followed by a group discussion of the parable and its application to our daily lives. All are welcome every Sunday at 9:15 in the undercroft.

By way of reminder, we celebrate a mid-week Eucharist in the chapel every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. On the first Wednesday of the month we conduct a Healing Eucharist with unction (anointing with oil).

Blessings, Fr. Ray+

ATTENTION ALL MEN!  We are starting a men's group at St. John's!  Our first gathering will be Thursday, July 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the church.  Hamburgers and beer will be served and we will spend a little time talking about where we want to go from here.  More info will be coming soon.  In the meantime, please put the date on your calendar.  If you have any questions, call West Hornor or Fr. Ray.
