St. John’s Episcopal Church                      Sunday July 19, 2015

 
WORSHIP& EDUCATION NEWS:
 
ADULT EDUCATION: Will not meet
SUNDAY SCHOOL: Will not meet during the months of June and July.
 
WORSHIP: July 19th Holy Eucharist Rite II with Rev Bill Burks from Humboldt TN as officiant.
 
READINGS for July 19th: Jeremiah 23:1-6; Psalm 23; Ephesians 2:11-22; Mark 6:30-34, 53-56.
 
 Midweek service on July 22th.  We will have midweek Holy Eucharist this Wednesday at 5:30 in the chapel with Rev. Arnold Hearn officiating.
 
VESTRY NEWS: There will be a vestry meeting this Monday, July 20th at 6:30 pm at the church.
 
NEW:  COFFEE TIME FROM 9:30 - 10:15 EVERY SUNDAY IN THE UNDERCROFT WHILE THERE IS NO SUNDAY SCHOOL OR ADULT EDUCATION.
 
 
FELLOWSHIP NEWS:  Mark your calendars!
 
Immediately following church this Sunday, there will be Food, Fun and Fellowship in the chapel to meet and greet our supply priest, Bill Burks and the All Church Council of Together for Hope from North Carolina.  I hope you will take this time to meet our visitors and share in the food and fun.
 
PASTORAL NEWS:
 
Pastoral Visitors of the week:  Susan Carter& Martha Lambert.  This is a new ministry.  The pastoral visitor/visitors for the week will make visits on behalf of St. John’s to shut-in’s or to the sick of the parish.
 
St. John’s Good Samaritans (ECW):  Please feel free to call Maureen Jones (404-697-7197) or Jeannie Turley (870-816-6387) if you are in need of some help with errands or transportation or food, or if you would just like some company.  These and other members of the church have graciously offered their time to assist anyone needing help.  If you would like to volunteer services, please let Maureen or Jeannie know.

The Samaritan’s Purse: The Samaritan’s purse category for donations in July is:
 
Girls Toys for ages 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14.Dolls (baby, rag, teen and paper), jump ropes, Yo- Yo’s, Toy dishes, pots and pans, crayons, harmonica, horn, whistle (noise makers).  Flashlights with batteries, coloring books and colored markers.  Remember EVERYTHING must fit in a SHOE BOX!
Angels of GraceThe item from their wish list this week is laundry detergent for the women’s shelter. Please place you items in the plastic tub at the stair landing just outside the chapel coming up from the undercroft. Our tub is rather empty now.
