St. John’s Episcopal Church

All of us at St. John’s have been saddened by the recent deaths of Kappi Pillow and Bennett Morris.  These two wonderful women were, without a doubt, the matriarchs of our parish and will be greatly missed.  They were powerful examples of what it means to love Christ and His Church. Please keep their families in your prayers.

Following up on what I mentioned last week, our building will be open two days and one afternoon each week for anyone who wants to enter for prayer, meditation or a time of quiet reflection.  Beginning immediately, the church building will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. till noon and on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. till 7 p.m.  Our sexton Tony will be present to assist with the lift if it is needed and will apply disinfectant to seating areas after they are used.  Please follow CDC and Arkansas Health Department guidelines when entering the building.  These include:

  • Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet between yourself and others, unless they are part of your family.
  • Wear a face mask while in the building. They will be available as you enter.
  • Use hand sanitizer upon entering and leaving the building. It will be available on the table as you enter the building.
  • Please enter by the front doors since the chapel door will not be open.

Several folks have volunteered to learn to operate our live streaming equipment.  Almost all of the equipment has arrived, so we will be setting up a training event for operators in the near future.  Please let me know if you would like to be part of this group.

Blessings,  Fr. Ray+
