St. John’s Episcopal Church - Sunday, May 17, 2020

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day either celebrating with your mother or, as is the case for many of us, remembering your mother.  Royce and I were in Little Rock and enjoyed spending a little time “social distancing” with family.  I think the only hard part was not hugging on our granddaughters!

On Tuesday afternoon I will be participating in a Zoom call with Bishop Benfield and other clergy in the diocese of Arkansas.  In another newsletter later this week I will pass along new information about plans for reopening our building for worship.

I hope you have enjoyed the worship videos that we have been sending out on Saturday afternoon.  Though not the same as physically gathering, I am grateful for the opportunity to still gather via video.  The good news is that the same love of Jesus Christ that binds us together at 10:30 on Sunday mornings when we gather in the lovely old building at 625 Pecan Street also binds us together wherever we are.

As I’ve mentioned several times lately, I am available to stop by your home for a front porch or front yard visit. While some folks are “out and about” working, I realize others have been isolated at home for several weeks. Please call me and I’ll set up a time to stop by.  The church number is 338-8115 and my cell number is 501-291-6262.
