FROM FR. RAY+

Holy Week is when we walk with Jesus through the final days of his life.  On Maundy Thursday we go with him and his disciples to the Upper Room where he gives his followers the new commandment that they love one another, and shows them what that means by washing their feet and instituting what we have come to know as Holy Communion.  On Good Friday, we follow Jesus as he carries his cross to Golgatha, is crowned with thorns and dies for the sins of the world.  On Holy Saturday we wait in silence.  Then, on Easter Sunday we join with Christians around the world in proclaiming, He Is Risen!  I regret that we will not be able to gather physically for Holy Week Services this year. We will still gather, though!

As we did on Palm Sunday, we will gather online to observe Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. Due to the time constraints that come with recording and editing these videos, on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday we will post music and a meditation for each day.  Our Easter service will be a full Eucharist. The online address for each video will be sent in a separate newsletter.  Please call the church office if you have any questions.

Also, please contact the church office (338-8115) or me (501-291-6262) if you need help with deliveries of groceries, prescriptions or other items.  We have several folks who have volunteered to run errands for anyone who cannot get out during this time of social distancing.

As you have been doing for these past several weeks, please continue to check in with each other, especially with those who are isolated at home.  And, of course, please continue to pray for those on the frontline of this pandemic, especially our physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare workers.

Blessings,

Fr. Ray+
