St. John’s Episcopal Church - Sunday, February 16, 2020

FROM FR. RAY+

The Adult Sunday School Class at St. John’s has been using the book and DVD UNAFRAID by Rev. Adam Hamilton.  The subtitle of his book is “Living With Courage and Hope in Uncertain Times.”  It has been an excellent study as we prepare for the season of Lent. Please let me know if you would like a copy and I’ll see that you get one.  One of the helpful takeaways from the book is the acronym F E A R

                                                Face you fears with faith

Examine your assumptions in light of the facts

                                                Attack your anxieties with action

                                                Release your cares to God

I realize it is not possible for everyone to be part of everything happening at St. John’s.  For a small church, we provide a variety of opportunities for your spiritual growth.  With that in mind, I like to highlight some of the good things that come out of our classes, worship services, and special speaker events.  Since fear is pretty much a universal experience, I wanted you to be aware of both Rev. Hamilton’s book and the acronym mentioned in the previous paragraph. I hope you find it as helpful as I, and others in the class, did.

Blessings, Fr. Ray+
