St. John’s Episcopal Church - Sunday, February 3, 2019
From Fr. Ray+
Thank you to everyone who helped with our Annual Parish Meeting and Luncheon last Sunday! By unanimous vote, Mike Fielder, Ann Lee and Ben Pittman were elected to three-year terms on the St. John’s vestry. Gina Pillow was announced as our new Sr. Warden and Tap Jennings was elected Jr. Warden at the vestry meeting following the Annual Meeting. Gibson Turley and Walter Morris, Jr. will continue to serve as Clerk and Treasurer, respectively. Vestry meetings will continue to be held on the third Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the church and will, as always, be open to anyone who wishes to attend.
One of my goals for the New Year is for St. John’s to continue to prayerfully consider ways of living out the core values we identified last year. Those core values are: Celebrating God’s love in the beauty of Anglican worship, Growing in our faith through study and spiritual disciplines and Serving the world in Jesus’ name with our time, talent and treasure. If you would like to be part of one (or more!) of the small groups focusing on each of these core values, please let me know.
Blessings, Fr. Ray +
