St. John’s Episcopal Church - Sunday, March 18, 2018

From Fr. Ray +

Parish Planning Meeting and Luncheon

All St. John’s members and friends are invited to a luncheon and planning meeting this coming Sunday, March 18, immediately following worship.  Pulled pork, baked beans and other sides will be served.  The purpose of the planning meeting is to listen to each other in order to better discern our core values, as well as those things we appreciate about St. John’s.  Then, based on those things we value and appreciate, we will be positioned to move forward into the future God has for us at this time in our life as a congregation.

Lent, Holy Week and Easter at St. John’s

Our Lenten Journey this year includes Evening Prayer on Mondays and Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. in the chapel.  Our Wednesday Eucharist continues on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m., followed by a simple soup supper and program in the undercroft.  Our Holy Week Schedule is:

Maundy Thursday Service at 5:30 p.m.

Good Friday Service at Noon

Good Friday Stations of the Cross at 5:30 p.m.

Our Easter Service will be at our usual time of 10:30 a.m.  Children will gather at 10:00 a.m. for the Flowering of the Cross.  Following Easter Worship, we will gather in the garden for refreshments and an Easter Egg Hunt for the children.  An added blessing this year will be an ensemble of Memphis musicians providing joyful music during our Easter reception in the garden.  We are grateful for the generosity of one of our members in making this ensemble part of our celebration of Easter.  Be sure to invite your family and friends to celebrate our Lord’s resurrection with you at St. John’s!

Blessings, Fr. Ray+
