St. John’s Episcopal Church -  Sunday, October 29

From Fr. Ray +

The Blessing of the Animals will take place this coming Sunday afternoon, October 29, 2-4 p.m. in the garden at Helena First United Methodist Church. Critters of all kinds are welcome and each will receive a collapsible bowl.  If you can’t bring your pet, feel free to bring a picture of them for a blessing.

For the next two Sundays during Sunday School, I will be teaching a class on the liturgy used in our principal worship service each week. Copies of the service will be provided to all class participants and we will spend time on each element of it, explaining what we do, why we do it and what it means.  I will teach the same class again on Wednesday, November 1 at 6:15 p.m. All are welcome!

Weekly topics are as follows:

October 22 and 25: The Book of Common Prayer

October 29 and November 1:  Worship and Liturgy Part I

November 5 and 8:  Worship and Liturgy Part II

November 12 and 15:  The Diocese of Arkansas and St. John’s Helena-West Helena

Blessings, Fr. Ray+
