St. John’s Episcopal Church - Sunday, August 27, 2017
One Call Now: In order to receive your text messages through our new phone contact system, you need to send a text message to 22300, type the message Alert, and send. You will immediately receive a response from OCN “Thanks! Alerts will be sent from One Call Now when available.” We will send out a short message later this week testing this set-up.
From Fr. Ray +
This coming Sunday, August 27, we will be having a lite lunch and homemade ice cream immediately following worship. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite friends and family to join you at St. John’s!
There is a list of items needed for Operation Christmas Child on the table at the back of the church. Items can be placed in the red wagon in the narthex.
Our study of The Apostles’ Creed continues during Sunday School. This week we will be taking a look at The Church and The Communion of the Saints. Sunday School starts at 9:30 and meets in the undercroft.
Towards the end of September, I will be leading a six-week Confirmation/Informational Class on The Episcopal Church. While geared towards those who want to be Confirmed or Received into membership at St. John’s and The Episcopal Church, it will also be an excellent opportunity to refresh your knowledge of our faith tradition. Bishop Benfield’s next pastoral visit to St. John’s will be February 4, 2018, at which time those who have completed the class will have the opportunity to be baptized and/or confirmed.
Blessings, Fr. Ray +
