ADULT EDUCATION:  Sunday, May 1, at 9:00 am.  We will continue to focus on the study of Matthew with Chapter 24. (N.T. Wright’s book).
SUNDAY SCHOOL:   Will meet at 9:00 at the First United Methodist Church.
WORSHIP:  May 1st, the Holy Eucharist, Rite II, with Rev. Ray Brown
READINGS for this Sunday (Sixth Sunday of Easter) are:  Acts 16:9-15; Psalm 67;
 Revelation 21:10, 22-22:5; John 5:1-9.
MIDWEEK EUCHARIST will be cancelled this week due to the Celebration of a New Ministry on Friday, April 29thMidweek Eucharist will resume next week on Thursday, May 5th, at Noon.
April 29th, Friday, at 5:30 PM, Celebration of a New Ministry with the Bishop Larry Benfield and honored clergy will officiate in the induction of Rev. Ray Brown as our Rector.

St. John’s Good Samaritans (ECW):  Please feel free to call Maureen Jones (404-697-7197) or Jeannie Turley (870-816-6387) if you are in need of some help with errands or transportation or food, or if you would just like some company. 
The Samaritan’s Purse:  Donations that will fit in a shoe box can be placed in the basket by front door.  Donation for May is:  Clothes for girls age 5-9.
Angels of Grace and Anchor Mission Ministry: The item from their wish list this week is paper towels.  A plastic tub for each is located at the stair landing just outside the chapel.
Humane Society of the Delta:  Donations needed are cat food, cat litter and large bath towels.  A large donation tub has been placed with the others.

Thursday, May 5th, at 12:00 Noon, Midweek Holy Eucharist in the Chapel.
Saturday, May 7th, at 2 pm, Mr. Kent Shreeve will present a piano concert of sacred and secular music at St. John's.  Mr. Shreeve is a native of Helena-West Helena but has lived in Little Rock for many years.  All are invited to this concert which is being presented as a memorial tribute to his late sister, Kay Shreeve.
May 29th is an open date for altar flowers.  Please contact Ann Lee if you are interested.
From Fr. Ray:  If you would like to serve as an oblationer at Sunday worship, please sign up on the sheet provided on the table with the bulletins.  Oblationers are those who bring the bread and wine forward during the offertory.  One person can bring both the bread and the wine or two persons can bring one element each.
Royce joins me in saying a big THANK YOU to everyone for the warm welcome we have received at St. John’s.  Your many acts of kindness and support have made us feel right at home.  Please know my door is always open and I look forward to getting know all of our St. John’s family.  I have met so many wonderful people in our congregation and in the broader Helena-West Helena community.  It is indeed a joy to be here!  Blessings—Fr. Thursday, April 28, at 7:30 pm, Romeo and Juliet presented by the Moscow Festival Ballet in the Lily Peter Auditorium at the college.
Sunday, May 1st, at 6:00 pm, Outdoor Concert and Picnic with the Memphis Symphony Big Band will play.
