ADULT EDUCATION: Sunday, February 21, at 9:00 am until 10:00 am.  We are currently studying the gospel of Matthew using N.T. Wright’s book.
SUNDAY SCHOOL will be held at 9:00 at the First United Methodist Church.
WORSHIP:   February 21, Morning Prayer, Rite I, with Jack Myer reading.
READINGS for this Sunday are:   Genesis 15:1-12, 17-18; Psalm 27; Philippians 3:17-4:1; Luke 13:31-35.
HOLY EUCHARIST will be held in the chapel at 12:00 noon on February 25th.  Arnold Hearn will be our celebrant.  A lite lunch will be provided by the ECW immediately afterwards.
EVENING PRAYER is at 5:30 in the chapel Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday throughout Lent.
Pastoral Visitors: Virginia Topp & Nancy HoweThis is a new ministry.  The duty runs from Sunday to the next Sunday.  Each week the pastoral visitor or visitors will visit the members of St. John’s that are either sick or shut-in.
St. John’s Good Samaritans (ECW):  Please feel free to call Maureen Jones (404-697-7197) or Jeannie Turley (870-816-6387) if you are in need of some help with errands or transportation or food, or if you would just like some company.  These and other members of the church have graciously offered their time to assist anyone needing help.  If you would like to volunteer services, please let Maureen or Jeannie know.

The Samaritan’s Purse:  Donations that will fit in a shoe box can be placed in the basket by front door.  Needed are toys including balls, trucks and cars (not military), dolls, and puzzles that are age appropriate.
Angels of Grace The item from their wish list this week is paper towels for the women’s shelter. Please place you items in the plastic tub at the stair landing just outside the chapel coming up from the undercroft.
Anchor Mission Ministry Box: This week’s donation item is paper towels. They will accept donations for personal hygiene (deodorant, soap bars, tooth brush and tooth paste, wash cloths & towels, shampoo) laundry detergent, paper towels and toilet tissue.  It is located on the bypass.  Their donation box is located off the chapel in the stairwell next to the Angels of Grace box.
Humane Society of the Delta:  They have made a request for donations of cat litter, laundry detergent and large bath towels.  A large donation tub has been placed with the others off the chapel stairwell or you can call 870-753-2119 or 870-995-2379 and they will pick up your donation.  You may also take your donation directly to the shelter, 9518 Phillips 300 Rd. between the hours of 7-10 am or 2-5 pm.

HOLY EUCHARIST will be held on Thursday each week at 12:00 NOON, beginning February 18th and continuing through March 17th.  Our celebrant will be Rev. Arnold Hearn.  Immediately after a lite lunch will be provided by the ECW.
The United Methodist Women of the Helena United Methodist Church cordially invite everyone to attend Lenten Listening services beginning Ash Wednesday, February 10th, at 12:00 Noon. These services will continue each week on Wednesday through March 23rd.  Bring your own sandwich and they will furnish the beverage and dessert. A nursery will be provided.  The speaker for February 24th is Chris Ritchey and special music will be Kathleen Quinlen.
