St. John’s Episcopal Church                      Sunday, February 1, 2015
Please come to St. John’s for worship and fellowship this Sunday, Feb. 1st.  The 9 a.m. Adult Class will study the Gospel of Matthew and continues to share homemade baked goodies before class.  Sunday school for kindergarten through 4th grade will study Jonathan and friendship and will meet at the Methodist church. Our celebrant for the 10:30 service will be Rev. Arnold Hearn, from Marianna.
Readings Sunday, Feb. 1st: Deuteronomy 18:15-20; Psalm 111; 1 Corinthians 8:1-13; Mark 1:21-28.
Next week’s schedule: We will celebrate the Eucharist on Wednesday, February 4th at 5:30 with Rev. Arnold Hearn from Marianna as our celebrant.
St. John’s Good Samaritans (ECW):  Please feel free to call Maureen Jones (404-697-7197) or Jeannie Turley (870-816-6387) if you are in need of some help with errands or transportation or food, or if you would just like some company.  These and other members of the ECW have graciously offered their time to assist anyone needing help.  If you would like to volunteer services, please let Maureen or Jeannie know.

The Diocesan Convention will be held on Friday, February 13th and Saturday, February 14th     
Susan Carter and Lorraine Ferryman are our delegates.
Lent starts February 18th  at 5:30 pm in the chapel with Holy Eucharist and the disposition of ashes.  Arnold Hearn with be our celebrant.
We will have our regular Evening Prayer services on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during Lent.  On Wednesdays we will have Holy Eucharist followed by a light meal.  Jayne and Walter Morris will host our first meal after Eucharist on Wednesday, February 25th..
St. Mary’s Catholic church is hosting its annual Mardi Gras Seafood dinner and raffle event again this year on February the 6th from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Contact their church office to purchase tickets which are $15.00.
